JENSIgame fighting for Internet Lottery Terminal rights Posted: 21 Dec 2011 11:56 AM PST
JENSIgame is a pioneer in the field of internet gaming terminals. The ILT – Internet Lottery Terminal – from JENSIgame has already been in operation for several years. JENSIgame is defining the market for the ILT in several countries in Europe. The clear goal of the company is to bring the ILT into a clear legally defined market. Local politicians need to understand that this gaming segment is truly international. Mr. Jens Göransson is the founder and owner of JENSIgame. Mr. Göransson has many years of experience of fighting the corner for this market and explains, "Traditionally gaming has been regulated on a country, even state level. The days of internet changed this. Politicians still at times do not wish to come to terms with this. It is our duty to inform politicians of the market as it is today. At times we have to fight our case in law courts. We have a very successful track record of this". Nevertheless, after 32 consecutively court cases won in Sweden concerning the operation of the ILT, the Högsta Domstolen (Supreme court) has ruled against this. "We did not expect this judgement as we have a long history of successfully fighting for our rights. We are very confident of our position so our next step is to take this to the European Court of Justice", notes Mr. Göransson. The cases were lost as the court took a standpoint of organising vs. locations, accepting domestic major (state) companies but not external companies as clearly stated as being a requirement by the EU/EEC. "This is in our view a strong breach of fundamental EU regulations and will be a issue for the EU court. The Supreme court was not united", explains Mr. Göransson. JENSIgame continues to play a defining role in allowing land-based operators offer internet gaming. Thus, JENSIgame is bringing land-based and online gaming together.

CHANGES: 2012 Aussie Millions Poker Championship Posted: 21 Dec 2011 01:02 AM PST There are a few of the changes for the 2012 Aussie Millions Poker Championship. Primarily they are to do with late registration, we are pleased to announce that all Aussie Millions Poker Championship events, with the exception of the Rebuy Event, Heads Up, Chinese Poker and the Main Event will have late registration available until the 2nd break, usually four hours into each event. Stacks in play at the start of the tournament will be picked up at the end of the first level after which time players will be seated with a full starting bank. In the 2012 Aussie Millions Main Event late registration will be available up until the commencement of Level 9, which is the second level of Day 2. After the end of level 1 all players will be seated with a full starting bank. This is a major change from previous Aussie Millions and has been instigated by a number of factors. Firstly, Chinese New year falls on the same day as Flight 2 of the Aussie Millions this year and a number of players in the region wish to spend that time with their families and still participate in the Aussie Millions. There are also quite a few players who are travelling over from the PCA and they too have expressed their interest in arriving a day later and still being able to play the Main Event. While starting a $10k event with 30 big blinds is not for everyone the additional entries added to the prizepool made it an easy change to make. With the $25K event late in the week we expect quite a few more players to be making the trip from the Bahamas to sunny Melbourne in January. See you in beautiful Melbourne soon!
