| Take part in the Great Big Christmas Charity Appeal Posted: 11 Dec 2011 02:00 AM PST As the festive season approaches, families and schools are preparing for the holidays. However, for many children this time is spent in hospital. This can be very difficult for patients and families who are not only having to cope with their illness but are also away from home and their wider family and friends. This year, Great Ormond Street Hospital are asking supporters, friends, schools and everyone with an interest in helping sick children to send a message back to the children with their Christmas E-Stocking. The stockings are then used to decorate the hospital by putting the messages within the hospital and wards. Children and families are able to read the messages and it shows how much people all over the country care. It’s free to write your e-stocking but you can also make a donation if you wish. This is a lovely simple activity for schools to get involved with. Send your e-stockings here.
