APEX branches out into major new technology

Posted: 10 Feb 2012 07:52 AM PST

The APEX gaming Group of Companies has grown to become a major player in the manufacturing and operating of gaming machines. The company philosophy was laid down right at the beginning with the choice of the company name: APEX.

Apex signifies the summit, the top, striving to be the best. Such growth in the previous years has only been possible by truly understanding the market and creating products and solutions that reflect both operator and player needs and wishes.

Andreas Behr - Managing Director of APEX LED at the IMA in Germany

The Pinnacle gaming cabinet series reflects this focus on the apex – excellent design that is very appealing to the eye combined with a very sturdy construction, implementing the industry's best components alongside APEX innovations, such as the patented cooling system.

Such focus on innovation, quality and design has resulted in a new company – APEX LED. LED lighting is practically standard in gaming machines. APEX is now bringing LED lighting to the household market. True to the company's strategy of bringing true improvements, thus value-added innovations to the market, the light bulbs of APEX LED stand out in their own right. The combination of durability, luminosity and environmental friendliness at the right price has brought about a new range of LED light bulbs.

You can tell an APEX LED light bulb straight away – it's the one with the orange base

The APEX LED light bulbs shine in such a way to provide a warm white effect. With a life-span of approx. 25,000 hours, APEX LED light bulbs provide a saving of up to 90% over traditional light bulbs and halogen light bulbs. Yet again APEX is creating new design standards in its new range of LED light bulbs. Furthermore, it is simple to know whether you have an APEX LED in your hands or not – the orange base is patented. Thus, the orange base = APEX LED.

APEX LED brings important new choice to the household light bulb market

APEX LED has its headquarters in Germany (Forstinning near Munich). The Managing Director is Mr. Andreas Behr. Asked why APEX has diversified to form APEX LED, his response is clear: "APEX has grown to where it is today in gaming due to its focus on technology, quality, innovation and design. We have much experience in LED technology. The current eco-friendly light bulbs are just a transitory solution. LED light bulbs give their full light immediately when switched on – so react just like traditional light bulbs. Thus, APEX LED combines this popular effect with massive long-term electricity cost savings. Electricity is becoming more expensive every year. Major light bulb manufacturers are trying to force consumers to stay with the unpopular 'eco-friendly' light bulbs that contain large amounts of environment-unfriendly mercury. We see it as our duty to enable the growth of LED household light bulbs and thus have created APEX LED".

UK It’s not too late to donate to GREaT

Posted: 10 Feb 2012 07:41 AM PST

With just seven weeks to go until the end of its current fundraising year, The GREaT Foundation (GREaT) today urged all Gambling Commission licensed operators that have not yet made a pledge or donation for 2011/12 to do so as soon as possible to ensure that the charity reaches its annual fundraising target of £5million.

Speaking today, Marc Etches – Chief Executive of the Responsible Gambling Trust – said: "In April The GREaT Foundation and Responsible Gambling Fund will officially merge to become the Responsible Gambling Trust and the fundraising and commissioning roles of the two organisations will be adopted by the new charity.  To ensure the best possible start for the Responsible Gambling Trust, it is imperative that GREaT achieves its 2011/12 fundraising goal to enable a smooth transition of responsibilities and immediate future funding to grant beneficiaries."

Etches added: "Our 2011/12 fundraising total currently stands at £4.7million and we are extremely grateful to each of the 600 companies that have so far supported GREaT this year.  However, with over 3,000 organisations licensed by the Gambling Commission, we are hoping to see a significant increase in our number of donors over the next few weeks as more organisations elect to support The GREaT Foundation as a means of complying with the Gambling Commission's mandatory code of practice (2.1) which relates to contributing to all three aspects of problem gambling namely research, education and treatment."

To request a copy of GREaT's 2011/12 donation form please contact Karen Churches Peacock (Fundraising Director) either by phone on 020 7287 1994 or by email at churchesk@thegreatfoundation.org.uk.  Alternatively, a copy of the form can be downloaded at www.thegreatfoundation.org.uk/1112donationform.pdf.
