Bally Technologies Hosts 550 Customer Users at 9th Annual Systems User Conference in Southern California

Posted: 15 Mar 2012 09:33 AM PDT

LAS VEGAS, March 15, 2012 — Bally Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BYI), a leader in slots, video machines, casino-management, interactive applications, and networked and server-based systems for the global gaming industry, hosted its three-day Systems User Conference 9 at Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, Calif., March 6-8.

Bally Technologies President and Chief Operating Officer Ramesh Srinivasan

The conference, featuring the theme "Be a Player," was attended by a record 550 gaming operators representing more than 160 properties and 14 countries. Attendees participated in Bally's DM Tournaments™ throughout the conference, learning firsthand about the excitement of floor-wide promotions powered by Bally systems products. Operators competed in the slot tournaments on gaming machines made by five different manufacturers, showcasing the powerful capabilities of iVIEW DM and the Elite Bonusing Suite (EBS)™.

Customers learned about the new Bally Interactive division, and Bally Mobile solutions were showcased throughout the conference. Attendees saw how Bally's custom mobile apps are used by some of the most respected casinos in the world to reach players and increase excitement about the casino resort.

In addition, attendees learned practical tips and innovative ideas, while networking with operators from around the globe to help them get the most from their Bally Systems solutions. The attendees represented a 30 percent increase from Systems User Conference 8 last year, also held at Pechanga.

"Each year I look forward to meeting with the hundreds of respected gaming leaders who attend this event and have a strong interest in Bally's latest systems solutions," said Bally Technologies' President and Chief Operating Officer Ramesh Srinivasan. "This year was especially rewarding as a record number of our valuable customers attended the conference. It truly showed Bally has great partners who want to get the most from their continued investments in our technology."

Srinivasan added, "This year we provided an even higher caliber of educational sessions, product demonstrations, and voice-of-customer panels highlighted by real-world case studies and workshops for our attendees. It was also exciting to see an increase in attendees from casino marketing departments, which demonstrates the value of our solutions for increasing the casino guest experience."

Bally's systems connect and manage gaming machines worldwide, and much of what is learned from Bally's global customer base in terms of scale and complexity is embedded in the technologies spotlighted at the conference. Since 2005, Bally Technologies' systems customer base has grown 76 percent.

In addition to competing in two conference tournaments (Mobile and DM Tournaments), conference attendees had the opportunity to experience many of Bally's systems products.

One of the key products highlighted was the award-winning iVIEW DM player-communication technology, which enables gaming operators to present personalized content, such as player account information and directed marketing messages, on the main game screen without interrupting play. iVIEW DM also enables point-of-sale marketing to improve player experiences.

Also shown was Bally's EBS. When combined with Bally's iVIEW and iVIEW DM player-user-interfaces, EBS creates incredible excitement on the casino floor through floor-wide bonusing events at each gaming machine.

Attendees also had the opportunity to learn more about exciting and innovative Bally products such as CoolSign® media-management, which allows operators to manage digital displays throughout a casino.

To enrich the conference, Bally also hosted basketball legend Earvin "Magic" Johnson, who gave an inspirational speech to attendees about succeeding in business and life and overcoming challenges.

A record number of sponsors for Bally Systems User Conference 9, listed in alphabetical order, included a number of leading gaming industry partners that had their products and services on display: ACI, Agilysys, AGT, Spacheta, Avnet, Axiomtex, BCM Advanced Research, Bsquare, Cisco Systems, FutureLogic, HP, IBM, Kontron, JCM, MEI, MICROS Systems, Inc., Mintronix, New Wave Automation, NRT Technology Corp., PAR, Pechanga Technology Solutions Group, Seneca, Sightline Payments, Software AG, Stratus, TekVisions, Transact Technologies, and VMware.

MICROGAME PARTNERS WITH GBE TO LAUNCH ITALIAN BETTING EXCHANGE

Posted: 15 Mar 2012 02:40 AM PDT

Thursday, March 15, 2012 – Microgame, the leading Italian betting and gaming service provider, has signed a partnership agreement with Global Betting Exchange, the leading B2B betting exchange technology provider, to introduce exchange betting to the Italian market.

The deal follows the January 16th announcement by Italian authorities that exchange betting will be legalised in Italy later this year. Both Microgame and GBE have followed successful strategies of working through networked partner models and this shared experience makes the companies ideal partners to launch exchange betting in the Italian market. Italian company BETLAB will deliver technical and commercial support to the partnership.

Microgame and GBE have been working towards the launch of an Italian betting exchange for three years and the upcoming change in legislation will allow the companies to fulfil the joint ambition of revolutionising the Italian regulated online betting market.

Microgame, as the market leading service provider in Italy, operates the People's Network through 160 licensed online partners and has more than 2m online gaming accounts. Microgame will introduce exchange betting as an additional product, seamlessly integrated with and complementary to, its existing offerings. The service, to be called the People's IBEX, will provide a platform where Italian punters, traders, speculators and bookmakers can all participate for their collective benefit.

Global Betting Exchange is the leading B2B supplier of betting exchange technology, operating a network of broker exchanges that feed liquidity into a central platform for the benefit of users around the world. The first GBE broker, BETDAQ, has the benefit of more than 10 years experience operating in the well developed UK betting exchange market. The GBE platform comes with an established liquidity pool matching more than 50 million sports bets to a total value of more than € 8.5 billion each year.

Ahead of the legislation being enacted a preview of the betting exchange platform will be shown by Microgame at the ENADA Primavera tradeshow, Italy's most important gaming tradeshow taking place at Rimini from the 13th to 16th March 2012 (n.01, hall A7).

Microgame founder and CEO, Fabrizio D'Aloia commented: "Microgame has chosen today’s best technological partner in the world, in order to introduce this revolutionary product and bring the Italian betting market into a brand new era. It is important to underline that People's Ibex does not have to be considered as a competitor for the traditional Italian bookmakers, but on the contrary as a great alternative for themselves to diversify their business. The betting exchange represents an additional offer for our clients, inside their current portfolio together with poker, casino games, bingo etc… Our expectations are very high, thinking both at the technological developments and at the business opportunities that it will bring to our gaming operators and their customers."

Chief Executive of Global Betting Exchange, Brian O'Sullivan said: "We have been monitoring progress towards the regulation of Betting Exchange in Italy and are delighted that we are close to the point where Italian consumers can benefit from the full range of betting exchange features that we have been providing to users in the UK for more than 10 years. We have worked with Fabrizio D'Aloia and Microgame over a number of years and have noted the success of their network model in the Italian market.  Microgame is a perfect partner for GBE and we believe that together we have the skills and the market knowledge to make a success of exchange betting in the Italian market."

Luca Sgarzi, CEO of Betlab added:  "Betlab is proud to play our part in bringing together Microgame and GBE, two of the most important players in their respective markets. This agreement will allow the Italian players to experience the most exciting online betting product available on the market."
