Value Investing Weekly Round-up

Hi

No lengthy blurb from me this week, it’s all on the blog.  So without further ado here are this week’s posts:

First up is a review of the small-cap value portfolio I run (which has been doing surprisingly well) and a look at the latest addition, Northamber (click here to read).

I’ve also started a project to get my thoughts down about most of the FTSE 100 companies so that if any have a price fall and look attractive I’ve already got a brief write-up already done.  The first company I’ve looked at is AMEC (click here to read)

You can see my thoughts on the market’s value now that we’re close to 6,000 again (click here to read).

And finally I posted the editorial from last month’s Defensive Value Report about why swing for the fences isn’t necessary to beat the market (click here to read).

And speaking of the newsletter, the new issue will be out next week once I’ve finished off the annual report reviews of AstraZeneca, RSA Group, BP, BHP Billiton and others (they all seem to come out at once!).  And I think it’s likely that we’ll have another big insurance company joining the model portfolio, but that will be the last one as it’s a house rule that it doesn’t own more than two companies from the same industry.

If you want to keep up to date with the various goings on then you can try the 60-day ‘no card’ trial here.

As always, if you want to get in touch just reply to this email and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Have a good weekend

John
