THE RANK GROUP GOES GREEN AS IT EMBARKS ON 12×12 ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGE

Posted: 09 Jul 2012 04:22 AM PDT

Team members across all areas of the Grosvenor Casinos business have been busy doing their bit to as part of The Rank Group's '12×12' mission to reduce its carbon footprint by 12,000 tonnes by the end of 2012.  The initiative, which has already seen a reduction in carbon emissions by 9,000 tonnes, culminated in a company-wide celebration of the inaugural Go Green Day on 19th June 2012, supported by both head office and casino-based teams.

The dedicated day of awareness-building and energy-saving initiatives saw team members take part in a range of activities; from walk-to-work schemes, wearing green, customer recycling programmes and printing amnesties.  The team were involved from the start, brainstorming ideas and suggestions to help make their mark on the target.

Meanwhile, Grosvenor Casinos managing director, Phil Urban led the way at the company's Maidenhead head office by unveiling two smoothie-making bikes, which were installed for the day to encourage the support team to step away from the kettle and blend their own smoothies using only pedal power. The day's events were made complete with a closely-fought race between Phil Urban and Mecca managing director, Mark V Jones taking part in a race to make the fastest smoothie, with Phil Urban claiming victory!

Grosvenor Casinos, managing director, Phil Urban, comments:"With 36 leisure venues across the country, we take our commitment to the environment very seriously, which is why it has been especially rewarding to see the team across the country get behind this initiative with such passion and dedication.  Our very first Go Green Day was a fantastic launch-pad, raising awareness amongst our teams and customers.  For the long term we are committed to encouraging environmentally-conscious behaviours to ensure we not only exceed our '12×12' target but we also set a great example to the industry."

Beyond Go Green Day, The Rank Group's Environment Committee continues to roll-out the plan of environmental activities, maintaining awareness and celebrating the company's achievements so far. 100 trees are to be planted in association with the Woodland Trust recognising the 100 best energy-saving ideas submitted on Go Green Day and posters are being produced for each venue to remind teams of easy ways to save energy and reduce waste every day.

Probability PLC selects GeoComply to develop its next generation geofencing tools for Mobile

Posted: 09 Jul 2012 04:18 AM PDT

9 JULY 2012 (LONDON, UK) – Probability, the London Stock Exchange listed specialist mobile gambling provider and operator, continues its strategy for putting compliance and social responsibility first, with its commitment to leverage GeoComply’s market-leading technology for the secure geolocation of mobile gambling customers. Initial devices to be covered include all Android handsets, as well as Apple's iPhones and iPads.

“Players expect to be able to wager on their games of choice on their device of choice", says Anna Sainsbury, CEO of GeoComply. “However, conventional geolocation technologies often make it very hard for operators to know with confidence where their players are coming from. In the case of regulated markets, we provide that assurance for them”.

Charles Cohen, CEO of Probability commented, “As a company that puts compliance at the heart of what we do, we are very happy to be working with GeoComply as they understand not only the regulatory and social responsibility standards we adhere to, but also the absolute priority of giving the player a seamless customer experience and where all the “hard yards” required for the geolocation are done in the background.”

Probability Games, who were founded in 2004, recently passed the 1 millionth customer mark and take over 13 million bets via mobile per month.

Nevada-based GeoComply offer geolocation solutions across all digital devices and have been field-tested by independent accredited test laboratory, BMM.
