Autumn Competitions for Schools

A number of competition prizes are on offer for teachers, schools and their pupils at the moment. Here are some that you can get involved in. Good Luck!

Wallace & Gromit’s Soundtrack Competition

This competition gives young primary school children and older primary school children the chance to form teams of 2-5 members and create brand new soundtracks to accompany famous Wallace & Gromit clips. Short-listed teams will visit Aardman Animations in Bristol, the home of Wallace & Gromit, and the two winning teams will travel to BBC North in Salford where their soundtracks will be recorded by top technicians. Operation Amphibian Teaching Resource Competition

Teachers can use the ‘Operation Amphibian’ teaching resource to explore issues and values that enable young people to understand, cope with and respond to crisis. It is made up of a simulation activity in which young people aged 7-14 build a camp for people displaced by war or natural disaster. They take on the role of Red Cross workers responding to the emergency. 200 packs are being given away and teachers can enter by completing this simple form.

Orbit Tellurium competition

Cochranes of Oxford are celebrating their 50th anniversary by giving an Orbit Tellurium away to a school. The hands-on model shows the Sun, Earth and Moon, correctly geared to show each month as the Earth orbits the Sun. Enter the competition here.
