Resource Site of the Week: Early Learning HQ Posted: 08 Oct 2012 10:00 AM PDT
Early Learning HQ is our sixth resource site of the week. Have you explored the site yet? Early Learning HQ is a great resource site for KS1 and Early Years teachers. The site offers thousands of teaching resources, all of which are free to download. These include a selection of literacy, numeracy, and role-play resources as well as numerous resources on popular early years themes. They also have many lesson plans on the site and a few interactive games. The site is created by Peter Samuel, who runs a graphic design and printing business. It was inspired by his mum who worked as a teacher for 30 years. Peter’s mum acts as a ‘consultant’ to the site, providing guidance and feedback about the resources that are published online. Early Learning HQ aims to focus on quality rather than quantity. They take time to create resources, really thinking about their educational value. They have also recently launched a shop offering educational equipment that teachers and schools can buy. In the future, Peter is aiming to increase the number of printable resources on the site, as well as adding many interactive games and lesson plans… and also possibly develop an iPhone app!
