CODERE Italy organized the conference “Finance, gaming and legality”

Rome, November 29, 2012. CODERE Italy has organized the conference “Finance, gaming and legality” at the conference hall of the Bologna Palace –-one of the seats of the Italian Senate on Via Santa Chiara (Rome)-, which has enabled a dialog between operators, not only from an economic and financial standpoint but also on the legal gambling activity itself.

The most notable participants included  Roberto Fanelli, Gaming Director of the State Monopoly Administration; Carlo La Rotonda, of the Legislative Affairs Area of Confindustria; Lt. Col. Gabriele Di Guglielmo, of the Department of Economic Affairs and Guardia di Finanza; Edoardo Calabria, director of Administration of the Police Headquarters in Rome, Massimiliano Pucci, president of the Astro Association in Italy; Razzante Ranieri, director of the Anti-Mafia Commission and president of AIRA and Maurizio Arena, attorney and expert on corporate crime.

The moderator of the meeting was Riccardo Pedrizzi, senator and president of the VI Senate Finance Committee from 2001-2006. During his tenure, in 2003, his committee published the “Study on the gaming industry and gambling.”

On behalf of CODERE, the event was attended by Massimo Ruta, CODERE Italy Country Manager –who emphasized the need for clear and stable rules for gaming to allow the professional development of the gaming activity– as well as Alejandro Pascual, CEO of CODERE Italy, Jose Ignacio Cases Mendez, vice president of the CODERE Foundation and German Gusano, Director of the CODERE Foundation.

The participants reflected on the role of gaming companies that operate with authorization and compliance, and analyzed the specific problems associated with the banking system, opening a dialog with the world of politics and media.
