Visitors to EAG International Expo (22-24 January 2013, ExCel London) can benefit from the unique opportunity to attend a free master class on how MGD will actually work. With the unusual title 'MGD – A Licence to Kill or Thrill (Your Business), the class will be presented by Michael Barnett FCA , BA(Econ) and Richard Simons FCA, both partners in the leading  industry chartered accountancy practice Richard Anthony and Company.

Richard Anthony will be known to many EAG participants as the firm is a true industry specialist, with a thirty year history of advising clients in the AGC,  FEC and leisure sectors.

The sessions have been structured to deliver practical advice and to explore the likely impact of MGD on a variety of businesses.

Key topics include:

What impact MGD is likely to have on your business as compared with VAT and AMLD?

What will be the impact of changes in VAT recovery, including partial exemption and other considerations arising after 1st February 2013, such as continued VAT registration?

What accounting records need to be maintained going forward in respect of these changes?

What are the practical considerations in the event of a visit or enquiry from HMRC?

What other areas of taxation might be affected (e.g. capital allowances on equipment)?

Michael and Richard will be encouraging a high level of participation and will be welcoming questions from attendees about the practical aspects of these changes.

The MGD master class will take place from 16.00-17.00 in the Seminar Theatre on Tuesday 22nd January.
