Resource Site of the Week: Teacher’s Pet

Posted: 03 Dec 2012 10:00 AM PST

Our latest Resource Site of the Week is Teacher’s Pet.

Teacher’s Pet is a wonderful collection of sites that offer thousands of high quality resources for primary teachers. It is created by Jay (a programmer and designer) and Christina (a former primary teacher) and it is organised into a number of different sections:

  • Displays – The Displays site was first created in April 2010 and features lots of printable display resources and teaching aids. The site has had almost 2 million downloads and everything is completely free!
  • Activities – This site includes a large selection of activities and games for use in the classroom. To access these resources, a 12 month subscription of £12 is required, but it is well worth it in my opinion!
  • Blog – Jay, Christina and a number of others also post on their blog, sharing ideas, resources and creative activities to try in the classroom. You might even catch me blogging over there occasionally too!

Jay and Christina are very receptive to suggestions from teachers and they will often make resources based on ideas from visitors to their site and social media pages. They also have an iPad app to help children to practise telling them time, with a number of others currently in development.

Teacher’s Pet are also very active on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest, so it is well worth following them there too! Don’t forget to enter their competition to win an iPad mini!
