Amazing Images of Britain From Above Posted: 05 Dec 2012 10:00 AM PST
Britain From Above is a fantastic site that offers aerial photographs of Britain at different points in History. The images date from 1919 to 2006 and show an amazing insight into the changing face of Britain in the 20th century. The site is a wonderful resource for schools and can be used in Geography, History and other curriculum areas. It’s easy to find relevant photos… just browse the map or search for particular places. Could your pupils find photos of your school / local area and describe how it has changed? Visitors are encouraged to add to the site, by pinning unidentified photos to places on the map and adding comments about how the area has changed over time. Many thanks to Simon Haughton for recommending this site. |
