A three-month field trial is already underway in the Murcia and Valencia regions, where SPIELO International's delite™ cabinets, featuring the globally-proven top performer, Sphinx™, have been installed in bars as well as in arcades. GamCare To Discuss New Initiatives at EAG International Expo 2013

Teresa Tunstall, Head of Development and Training at GamCare has confirmed that team members will once again be on-hand throughout EAG International Expo January 22nd-24th, to discuss the charity's existing services and new initiatives.

Now in its 15th year, GamCare is the leading provider of information, advice, support and free counselling for the prevention and treatment of problem gambling.

Teresa explains what GamCare plans to achieve at EAG International Expo: "The demand for GamCare's services continues to rise to the point where we are now answering  approximately100 calls per day.

“EAG International Expo provides the perfect opportunity to discuss initiatives with the industry after our annual conference, whilst they are still fresh," revealed Teresa.

GamCare works with 17 partner organisations delivering a service accessible to 70% of the UK's population. "We now have a close working relationship with the industry and value its support which is crucial to our work. We run accreditation programs for operators which include training of front-line staff in spotting the signs of potential problems and in intervention and directing affected individuals towards help and advice. In effect, the industry becomes a front-line ambassador," explained Teresa.

Asked about the scale of problem gambling within the UK, Teresa revealed that at any one time, it is estimated that it directly affects around 450,000 people. "This may only represent 0.1 % of the adult population but we believe that for each gambler, another 10 people close to them are suffering negative effects. The education of teenagers and young people is also becoming a priority for us.

“This year we plan to launch projects for educating young people, parents and teachers and we're also pressing the case for including education about responsible gambling in the PSHE curriculum so that young people understand that gambling is a leisure activity and not a way to make money.”

Teresa Tunstall and Stella Dalton of GamCare Trade Services were both originally from the gaming sector and will be well known to many EAG International visitors. Lottomatica Group and International Game Technology (IGT) extend their partnership into the Italian iGaming market

Rome (ITALY)  Providence, RI  Las Vegas, NV (USA), January 9, 2013  Lottomatica Group S.p.A. and International Game Technology (NYSE:IGT) announced that the companies are expanding their relationship into the iGaming market in Italy.

Lottomatica and IGT previously announced a partnership whereby IGT now provides game content and gaming machines to the Italian VLT (Comma 6b) gaming markets.

Lottomatica is offering IGT's full suite of online slots and game content for the regulated slot market in Italy. Under this new agreement, IGT will become a supplier of iGaming content, with a particular focus on the casino games, the scope of which has been broadened with the introduction of slot games to the iGaming market in Italy. This agreement will also provide players the opportunity to play the same games offered online and on mobile on the more than 10,000 VLTs in VLT venues throughout Italy.

Triple The Toys From Whitehouse Leisure

As 2012 comes to close and thoughts turn to the excitement of the New Year, Whitehouse Leisure has announced an enterprising approach for EAG International Expo taking place at ExCel London, January 22-24th, revealing it will be providing visitors a trio of stands showcasing the very best in licensed plush toys and novelty items.
