Trackoff – Free resources about safe conduct on the railway Posted: 17 Jan 2013 10:00 AM PST
Millions of young people live close to a railway line or use the railway to travel to school, to visit friends or to go on holiday. Some are drawn to play on the railway; some feel like messing about. Trackoff is an initiative by Britain's rail industry to help educate young people about safe conduct on the railway. The site contains lots of free resources, including video footage, information for teachers, lesson plans, classroom activities and assembly ideas that can be downloaded. A special section of the site also includes information about the dangers that children and teenagers may not be aware of. This looks like a very useful resource for teachers, covering an extremely important topic. |
