Brilliant Blogger of the Week: Ian Addison Posted: 21 Jan 2013 10:00 AM PST Our next Brilliant Blogger is Ian Addison. Ian shares lots of great ideas and resources on his blog and via Twitter! Ian is a primary school teacher at St John the Baptist Primary School in Hampshire. His blog is about the general life of an ICT co-ordinator. It contains hints and tips for using various tools, as well as links to planning and Ian’s thoughts about particular lessons that he has taught. Ian was a consultant for Hampshire for two years and was involved in ICT training. After finishing his work in that role, he started receiving lots of emails asking what he was doing for his curriculum or which laptops should a school buy or what software was the best for…. so he started to blog his ideas and plans so that others could use them too. Ian’s blog is a great source of information, particularly if you’re looking for information about Digital Leaders, or about using Google Apps in your school. There is a handy index of the most popular posts for those who aren’t familiar with the site. Ian has also written lots of articles for magazines and newspapers, as well as the fantastic ICT Essentials book. He also has a number of other sites, including ICT planning (sharing lots of plans and ideas to help improve ICT teaching) and Under Ten Minutes (offering short videos to help teachers use different types of educational technology). You can find Ian’s blog here and don’t forget to follow him on Twitter too. |
