MECCA VOTED BEST BINGO OPERATOR OF THE YEAR

Posted: 06 Feb 2013 10:41 PM PST

Mecca was announced the Best Bingo Operator of the Year at the Totalling Gaming Awards 2013.

Up against five other companies on the final shortlist, Mecca was the only company to offer bingo on smartphones, online and in clubs.

Central to Mecca's performance over the past year has been innovation to differentiate itself in the marketplace.  The company is the only UK operator to offer fully integrated bingo on iPhone, iPad and Android devices in addition to online and in clubs.

Social media channels have also been key with the launch of campaigns ranging from asking customers to vote on the desserts appearing on the menus to running competitions on the blog to Twitter campaigns supporting the Purses for Nurses charity initiative.

Innovation at club level has seen the launch of Firecracker events which have a one-off prize pot of £100,000.  Mecca also recently launched "Britain's Got Talent Bingo Stars", its first Facebook game.

Commenting on the win, Mark Jones, Managing Director of Mecca said, "I am absolutely delighted that we have won this award. This is a fantastic achievement and it is a real testament to everyone's hard work and commitment across the past year."

The Operator of the Year Award comes hot on the heels of Mecca being voted the WhichBingo Site of the Year 2012.

A runner-up twice in recent years, the website this year took the top accolade thanks to its combination of promotions, unique bingo and slots games and fundraising efforts for Marie Curie Cancer Care, its charity of the year.

Mecca's exclusive deal with The X Factor has also enabled it to develop branded games for the site which no other operator can offer.

The Site of The Year Award came just a few months after Gambling Data revealed that Mecca was officially the UK's biggest online bingo company according to its Summer 2012 data report with a market share of 21.5%.

Jones concludes, "2013 is an exciting year for us as we look to create one integrated brand across online, mobile and retail. We will continue to look for ways to innovate and differentiate ourselves, putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.

"Here's hoping our recent award wins will be joined by many more over the coming year."

G2E Asia 2013 Ready to Take Advantage of Double-Digit Gaming Growth in Macau

Posted: 06 Feb 2013 10:38 PM PST

G2E Asia 2013 promises once again to be the single destination where the rapidly growing Asian gaming industry gathers for the networking, education and access to products and technologies that help attendees get ahead – and stay there.  This year's show, which will take place from May 21-23 at the Venetian Macao. The importance of G2E Asia to the region's growing market is reflected by the participation of the giants of the international gaming industry and an expanded exhibition area that is 15% larger than in 2012.

In its most recent projections, the global financial services firm, Morgan Stanley, forecast that Macau's gaming market – Asia's gaming hub and the world’s largest casino market – would grow by 13 percent in 2013.  These predictions come following a year during which Macau's gaming revenues reached USD 38 billion, with monthly revenues for December hitting a record high of 19.6 percent – significantly more than the 16-18 percent predicted by experts.

The revenue increases have triggered gaming growth across the region in countries like the Philippines, South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Singapore, as their governments develop local tourism to capture the increasingly affluent Asian market.   Fuelled by dynamic economic growth and a rise in disposable income, the demand in these countries for gaming entertainment is growing.  PricewaterhouseCoopers forecasts that the Asia-Pacific gambling market will more than double from USD 34.3 billion in 2010 to USD 79.3 billion in 2015.

G2E Asia provides unrivalled access to the pan-Asian markets for international gaming equipment suppliers looking to enter this growing market and gives local suppliers the opportunity to expand their reach overseas.  So far, some of the world's biggest gaming companies have already confirmed their participation, including Ainsworth Gaming Technology, Aristocrat Technologies, Aruze Gaming, Bingotimes Digital Technology, Hydako, IGT, Interblock, Konami Gaming, Novomatic Group of Companies, RGB, TCSJOHNHUXLEY, WMS Gaming, Astro Corporation, Bally Technologies, Jumbo Technology, Gaming Partners International (GPI), SHFL entertainment and JCM Global, to name a few.

The international gaming industry is in the middle of a period of steady economic growth, and the Asian markets are significant drivers of this success, creating opportunities for agile, informed gaming companies and executives," said Josephine Lee, Senior Vice President of Reed Exhibitions Greater China.  "G2E Asia is the premier gaming industry event on the continent and the best place for companies looking to get ahead to gain a sharp competitive edge."

To date, 5,500 attendees and 300 Player's Club members are registered for G2E Asia 2013, and they represent some of the world's fastest developing gaming nations like South Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and Singapore.   The Player's Club is part of G2E Asia's Targeted Attendee Program (TAP), which matches high caliber buyers and other attendees to the international industry's leading providers of gaming solutions.

G2E Asia 2013 also will serve as a prime platform from which exhibitors can display new products. Some of the product debuts scheduled for G2E Asia include:

Inspired Gaming Group's electronic table games (ETG)

  • Weike Gaming Technology's new games and machines
  • Honeywell Security Business' new MAXPRO VMS integrated security solutions, IP Cameras for casinos and Pro-Watch access control system
  • Ace Creation Technology System Company's futrieval surveillance solution for casinos
  • VSR Industries' high-security locks and custom slot bases
  • Exact Office Automation's Kisan Newton Banknote counter with seven-currency sorting and other new functions
