Posted: 30 May 2013 01:23 PM PDT

With the eagerly awaited Asian launch of its brand new Dominator® cabinet, complete with a range of NOVO LINE™ Interactive games, at the annual G2E Asia show held in Macau Novomatic, together with its local partner for Macau and the Philippines, Jade Gaming, firmly established itself as a real Star of Asia.

Jens Halle, Managing Director Austrian Gaming Industries GmbH (AGI)

First seen at London's ICE Totally Gaming show in February the star of the show at G2E Asia was undoubtedly brand new Dominator® cabinet with a range of NOVO LINE™ INTERACTIVE games – among them the single game Reach the Hill™ in combination with the amazing new Community Jackpot AMAZELAND™. A second bank of Dominator® cabinets was shown connected to the card-animated four level mystery progressive Magic Joker Jackpot™. Both jackpot presentations use the Dominator's innovative flexible 18.5" TFT topper for the jackpot animation and the machines' third screens for the jackpot levels. The Dominator® was being presented for the first time in Asia and even ahead of the show had attracted strong levels of interest from local operators.

Also attracting much interest in Macao was the innovative Pinball Roulette™, a single player Roulette terminal that uniquely combines the attraction of the traditional Roulette with the amusement factor of a pinball launching mechanism and Octavian's casino management system ACP (Accounting Control Progressives System). The latter connected all of the Super-V+ Gaminator® III machines at the show booth to demonstrate the various modular functionalities of the ACP system.

The Super-V+ Gaminator® III section featured two market-specific Asian game mixes: the Super-V+ Gaminator® A2 multi-game mix based on Coolfire™ II and the NOVO LINE™ Interactive Macao-Mix based on the NOVO LINE™ INTERACTIVE server-based-ready platform.

Further products presented in Macau were a NOVO LINE Novo Unity™ II multiplayer installation comprising six player terminals and one automated Roulette wheel, with an array of eight further virtual live games as well as video slots on each of the terminals: Novo Multi-Roulette™ as well as the fully animated ('Flying') versions of Roulette, Double Action Roulette, Baccarat, Black Jack, Texas Hold'Em Poker, Poker 3, Bingo and Sic Bo.

And finally, also for the first time to be seen in Asia, was Novomatic's new, flexible and comprehensive video content delivery system, packed into a sophisticated one-stop-shop hardware and software solution: ADMIRAL Absolute Vision™. It allows operators to display all kinds of video content from diverse sources on all types of screens in different flexible configurations.

Jens Halle, Managing Director Austrian Gaming Industries GmbH (AGI) stated: "We were extremely pleased to bring a great range of already highly successful international product developments here to G2E Asia and we were extremely encouraged to see the very positive operator response. Together with our local partner Jade Gaming we have once again demonstrated the company's commitment to the important Asian markets by presenting specifically designed game compendiums in our latest Super-V+ Gaminator® and Novo Line Interactive multi-game mixes. Judged by the extremely powerful positive reactions we are absolutely convinced that the time is right for Novomatic to take its place as a major force in Asian gaming."

‘Industry Achiever of the Year’ went to Sue Waldock.

Posted: 30 May 2013 01:14 PM PDT

In the past year Sue has revolutionised the talent management and attraction strategies for the group through Project PRIDE, launched a group employee assistance programme, developed the first Gaming based diploma – The Leaders in Leisure programme with Birmingham University and has been responsible for an award winning mentoring programme.

Rank Group HR Director Sue Waldock

Never one to shy away from making tough decisions, including leading the company through one of the first defined benefit pension scheme buyouts,  Sue ensures that everything in HR and the business is interlinked.

At the heart of her success, is Sue's genuine desire to see others succeed. She said, "Seeing people develop and gain confidence in their own abilities is an absolute delight. So often people are held back and limit themselves by their own insecurities and lack of confidence. I believe that everyone has potential and it's part of my role to help them to achieve it in our organisation."

Sue has leisure and entertainment in her blood, running her first hotel at 17 and becoming the youngest female GM of the largest Butlins hotel in the UK at 25. This background in operations and line management has given her the business acumen and credibility to succeed as HR Director for one of the UK's leading gaming companies. She is Chairman of the employment group for Business in Sport and Leisure Ltd and is currently studying for a Doctorate.

"Sue impressed the entire judging panel with her unbelievable service and achievements to the Rank Group over many years. It shows not just women within the industry but everyone what can be achieved with the energy, will power and enthusiasm Sue has demonstrated in her distinguished career." WIG Awards Judging Panel.

Rank's PR Team took 'Team of the Year (land based)' led by Lesly Clifford.
Three people strong, Rank's communications team manages internal communications, Consumer PR, reputation management, employee engagement and corporate social responsibility for over 130 retail sites and 3 support offices across 2 national brands. Through a multi-channel approach to communications, the team successfully drives some of Rank's core initiatives both internally and externally.

These have included Rank's 75thbirthday celebrations, the national group partnership with Marie Curie Cancer Care which has raised over £1m and funded over 50,000 hours of nurses time, consumer campaigns around new club openings and playing a key role in the group's environmental initiatives.

On her team's success Lesly comments: "We have a challenging role as we manage key relationships with different teams across the business and act as a support function to each of them. Whether it be working with the marketing teams on a national consumer campaign or supporting a local casino in a crisis situation – every day, or even every hour is different.

She continues: "The challenge we have is that we don't sit within the brand teams so we could be seen as outsiders. However working closely with the teams we've gained their trust and illustrated the value that well thought-out, fully integrated communications strategies can have and as such have established excellent working relationships and proven ROI."

"The WIG judging panel were delighted to vote for Lesly and her team for this award, a team definition is a 'A group of people with a full set of complementary skills required to complete a task, job, or project.'  Lesly and her team do this to perfection and complement each other wonderfully, we are proud of our decision in naming Lesly Clifford and her team for this award." WIG Awards judging panel.
