The inaugural 2013 World Series of Poker – Asia-Pacific (WSOP-APAC) will be broadcast on ESPN Australia from this Sunday 14 July 2013 from 8:00pm.The WSOP-APAC held in April 2013, featured five, highly anticipated bracelet tournaments – the first-time WSOP gold bracelets have ever been offered in Australia. The broadcast series consists of six one-hour episodes and will be broadcast in Australia, every Sunday evening from 8:00pm for two-hours, over a three-week period. The six-part series will showcase the following: The Caesars Cup (Sunday 14 July 2013, 8:00pm-10:00pm)The invite-only exhibition event, played hosted to some of the best poker players from Europe, Asia-Pacific region and the Americas who battled it out at the inaugural WSOP-APAC, a unique Ryder Cup-style poker event that pits teams of the best players from around the world against each other to see which region is the world's best. Squad captains were Team Americas (Defending Champions) – Nine-time WSOP Gold Bracelet Winner Phil Ivey, Team Asia-Pacific – 2005 WSOP Main Event Champion Joe Hachem, Team Europe – Sam Trickett, winner of more than $13 million in the last eight months. $50,000 High Roller Event (Sunday 21 July, 8:00pm-10:00pm)With a total field of 44-entrants, hitting the felts were the likes of Paul Phua, Sam Trickett, Marvin Rettenmaier and Jonathan Karamalikis, who were also amongst some of the players to re-buy. The turbo structure meant a high speed of play throughout the day as players looked to move up the leaderboard to mount a charge at the money-paying top six where a AUD$825,000 first prize awaited. With day one ending after 16 grueling levels of play, the final 11 return the next day for the AUD$2,156,000 first prize. WSOP-APAC Main Event (Sunday 28 July, 8:00pm-10:00pm)The largest and most anticipated day of the WSOP-APAC was the coveted AUD$10,000 'Main Event' that was held in the internationally renowned Crown Poker Room. Amateurs, poker pros, celebrities and poker enthusiasts from more than 20 different countries sat down to battle it out for the acclaimed title of champion. The World Series of Poker is the gaming industry's premier event, each year drawing tens of thousands of poker enthusiasts from around the globe to compete for millions in prize money and the game's most coveted trophy – a World Series of Poker Champion's Bracelet. WSOP-APAC marks the second esteemed poker festival to be held at Crown Melbourne, following the highly successful Aussie Millions Poker Championship series which debuted in 2004.
