LAS VEGAS (July 22, 2013) – Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), the world's leading gaming testing laboratory and technical consultancy, has named world-class engineering expert Greg Sylvester as the company's new Director of Systems Engineering. In his role at GLI, Sylvester will develop strategic plans for special projects; oversee development of new testing methodologies and tools to support the engineering process; provide technical input and support for projects; and work with new and/or developing regulatory entities as they begin implementing gaming programs.

Also at Intel, he served as senior level program manager for all Intel Super Speed Universal Serial Bus 3 and new technologies for USB such as wireless, bandwidth, and audio/video enhancements for strategy, planning, hardware and software across Linux, Android, Windows, and Chrome operating systems. He was also responsible to ensure IP delivery into semiconductors in 32nm or less technology; led initiatives and drove workgroups; was responsible for IP external vendor and supporting negotiations; and collaborated with industry partners such as Microsoft, Lenovo, Dell, Seagate, and HP to drive new product initiatives to completion and new features that add a better user experience. Sylvester is stationed in GLI's Las Vegas laboratory. Star’s VIP’s were treated to thematic experiences – look, sights and sounds that dazzled, entertained and made memorable and lasting impressions – on a guest list that until now had “seen it all”! Guests were greeted at The Star Events Centre foyer and began their evening with a variety of tasty offerings from The Star’s top chefs. Following this they entered the ‘Diamond Mine’ and were accompanied by attractive male and female “diamond miners” (make up by Human Statue Bodyart). As the VIP’s emerged they found themselves at a red carpet runway, leading them to their their tables and a world of glitter and style. Adding to the glitz and glamour were 4 Marilyn Monroe’s who interacted with guests. There was a wide array of entertainment including a performance by the world renown cover band ‘The Velvet Set’.
Later in the evening an array of Las Vegas style showgirls took to the stage, and performed alongside Kirby Burgess (as Marilyn Monroe). The Event Centre is the final component of The Star's $870-million redevelopment and transformation into a total leisure and entertainment destination. Sydney’s New Multi-Purpose Venue Built on the rooftop of The Star with views over Sydney Harbour and the city skyline, the venue has been designed to host A-list acts from around the world in intimate concert settings as well as domestic and international conferences, exhibitions and awards functions.
