Last year, we featured the fantastic site Teach Your Monster to Read on Teaching News. The site, offering free games to help children to practise the first stages of reading, has been incredibly popular with teachers (and children). They have now published their second game on their site… and it’s completely free too!

The new game is called Fun with Words and it supports children with their reading journey to the end of Phase 4 of Letters and Sounds. There are new adventures, characters and challenges to try, which give children opportunities to practise new sets of graphemes and phonemes, develop their blending and segmenting skills and now practise reading whole sentences and captions.
The games can be played at school or at home and individual children are given their own login so that their progress can be tracked (by teachers and parents). This is a wonderful resource, so take a look and sign up here!
