VIRTUAL RACING™ NASCAR® TO MAKE WORLDWIDE DEBUT AT SOUTH POINT HOTEL CASINO & SPA ON LAS VEGAS BOULEVARD

Posted: 25 Sep 2012 02:53 PM PDT

LAS VEGAS, September 25, 2012 — Bally Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: BYI), a leader in slots, video machines, casino-management, interactive solutions, and networked and server-based systems for the global gaming industry, today announced that Virtual Racing NASCAR™ will debut at the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa on the Las Vegas Strip during the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Oct. 1-4.

Bally's Elite Bonusing Suite™ Virtual Racing promotional tool has already been a huge hit, creating floor-wide excitement on casino floors across America, driving coin-in, carded play, new player's club signups, and tremendous excitement. Now – for the first time – Virtual Racing will feature a NASCAR-themed car racing event that lets players actually choose their favorite driver and cheer him across the finish line.

Players will select one of eight famous NASCAR drivers: Clint Bowyer, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick,  Jimmie Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Mark Martin, or Martin Truex Jr. from the touch-screen on the iVIEW™ or iVIEW Display Manager™ (DM) player-user-interface on each of South Point's slot or video-poker machines.

Players who select the winning driver will split a guaranteed prize pool of $20,000 in bonus credits daily during the promotion. The NASCAR races will happen every Monday through Thursday during the month of October at 3:30, 4:30, 7:30, and 8:30 p.m. The South Point is giving away $380,000 during this first-of-its-kind floor-wide promotion.

South Point patrons who are members of The Club at South Point and earn 50 points on their player's club cards within one hour of each race will be eligible to participate in the virtual NASCAR races. The virtual-racing events are available on all of the South Point's gaming machines – without interrupting game play.

"Our mission is to give players a rewarding gaming experience, and we are doing that once again as the first casino in the world to offer the excitement of Bally's Virtual Racing NASCAR," said Michael Gaughan, owner of the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa. "We like to stay at the forefront of gaming technology while offering our guests something completely new to the market. There is nothing like the excitement of NASCAR and we are thrilled to be bringing it to players on Las Vegas Boulevard."

Earlier this year, the South Point became the first Las Vegas property to use iVIEW and iVIEW DM with the Elite Bonusing Suite applications to enable interactive, floor-wide player-bonusing applications such as instant slot tournaments, Virtual Racing™ events, and U-Spin™ real-time bonusing.

"We're thrilled to partner with Bally Technologies again to bring this trailblazing technology to the Las Vegas market and to our patrons," said Cliff Paige, Director of Slots at the South Point. "Bally's iVIEW DM really brings the NASCAR races to life and gives our players the chance to take the checkered flag and experience the action and excitement of NASCAR racing."

The South Point is also using these new systems to enable interactive, floor-wide player-bonusing applications such as U-Spin Bonusing, Lucky Match Bonusing™, Dynamic Random Bonusing™, and DM Tournaments™.

"We are extremely proud to continue our partnership with South Point as they continue to build casino excitement and player loyalty," said Bally Technologies' Chief Executive Officer Richard Haddrill. "This will be the first casino anywhere to bring the power of the NASCAR brand to their floor."

Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) Named The Verification Entity In Mexico By The SAT

Posted: 25 Sep 2012 01:53 PM PDT

LAS VEGAS (September 25, 2012) – Gaming Laboratories International (GLI), the world's leading gaming testing laboratory and technical consultancy, has been named the Verification Entity (OV) by the Mexican government's Tax Administration Services (SAT).

GLI Director of Latin American & Caribbean Development Karen Sierra-Hughes

In 2010, the Secretariat of Treasury and Public Credit of Mexico established technical requirements for betting and raffles operators to report specific financial information to the SAT for Tax collection purposes. This regulation created the figures of Authorized Provider of Services (PSA) and a Verification Entity (OV).

As the OV, GLI will be responsible for ensuring and verifying that all Authorized Providers of Services throughout Mexico comply with obligations under SAT regulations, regarding compliance to technical requirements established by the SAT.

GLI Director of Latin American and Caribbean Development Karen Sierra-Hughes said, "GLI underwent a thorough accreditation process in order to be recognized as the OV. We have been working very closely with the General Administration of the Federal Revenue Audit (AGAFF), the General Legal Administration (AGJ) and the Communications and Information Technology General Administration (AGCTI) in this accreditation process, and we are grateful to those officials for their dedication to the Mexican gaming industry and for their commitment to proper testing and standards."

In its extensive involvement throughout Latin America, GLI has consistently and diligently worked toward obtaining accreditation as soon as legislation is established. This accreditation in Mexico is the latest example of GLI being the leader in achieving accreditation in a jurisdiction. Previous examples include Peru, Bolivia, Panama and Chile.

"Working towards obtaining our accreditation immediately, GLI is contributing to the regulator's objective of being able to implement the regulatory policies per the plan established by the government.  The sooner a lab is recognized, the sooner regulators' policies can be put into reality," Sierra-Hughes said.

GLI will have Latin American development representatives at the company's booth at the upcoming Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas who can speak intelligently about the impact of this accreditation as well as the current status of gaming testing in Mexico and throughout Latin America. GLI will be in booth #4224.

GLI has a long-standing commitment to the Mexican gaming industry. GLI and the Normalizacion y Certificacion Electronica (NYCE) recently celebrated four years of working closely together in a business alliance to help bring testing standards to Mexico. Since 2008, GLI and NYCE have established an accreditation scheme which is recognized in Mexico, and together GLI and NYCE established technical standards, known as the NMX Gaming Standards.

For nearly 25 years, Gaming Laboratories International, LLC has been the world leader in providing independent testing, inspection and certification services to the gaming, wagering and lottery industry.  GLI also offers independent network and information security assessments to its regulatory, lottery and supplier clients. With 20 laboratory locations located across Africa, Asia, Australia, the Caribbean, Europe, North America and South America, GLI is the only global organization of its kind to hold U.S. and international accreditations for compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, 17020 and guide 65 standards for technical competence in the gaming, wagering and lottery industries. EiG Announces Start Up Finalists for its 5th Annual LaunchPad Session

Posted: 25 Sep 2012 02:36 AM PDT

London and Barcelona (September 25, 2012) – EiG, the European iGaming Congress & Expo, taking place on October 16-18, 2012, at the Fira de Barcelona, Spain, announced today the selection of the five finalists that will exhibit in the EiG Start-Up Zone and pitch in the highly-competitive Fifth Annual Start-Up LaunchPad.

Ewa Bakun, Head of Content, Gaming for Clarion Events, commented, "For the last four years, the EiG LaunchPad has been a platform for innovative start-ups to pitch their ideas to a panel of experts, investors and to a room full of the EiG high-level attendees. This year the stakes are even higher with the evolutionary forces of the marketplace driving innovation and turning business models upside down."

The list of start-ups selected for the 2012 LaunchPad are:

LocusPlay: Hi-Tech lottery platform that can be quickly rolled out in developing regions with lesser bandwidth availability.  Supports wide range of lottery games with diverse regional flavors – could this be an innovative solution that lotteries worldwide are looking for?

Colossus Bets: Bringing unprecedented high-prize pools to sports betting through the world’s biggest guarantees; this innovative product is augmenting the existing way pools are being played by allowing multi-leg cash-in, as each leg progresses. Can they bring real drama to betting?

Goplay: An open-source iGaming platform that enables casino operators to embed free-to-play social games into their websites and reward users with incentives redeemable at land-based casinos. Does it offer a winning solution to integrate 'social' into the existing bricks-and-mortar business?

Living Sports Limited: Combine sports with casino by generating real time odds on outcomes, putting them into casino style user interfaces and providing a second-screen experience. Will the founders' non-gaming, aerospace background help them succeed in sportsbetting?

Sofun Gaming: French start-up with an ARJEL license, operating Betkup, a social sports betting site that offers unique prediction challenges called Kups on which jackpots are formed. Founder defines it as “the poker of sports betting”; could this innovative approach be a solution to a challenging French market?

Their products, revenue models and potential will be scrutinized and judged during the 5th EiG Start-Up LaunchPad on Wednesday, 17 October, at 15:00 – 17:00 by an esteemed panel of judges that includes:

Edward Pfeiffenberger, Managing Director, Venatus Interactive

Phil Cronin, CEO, Tombola

Mark Blandford, Chairman, Valhalla Investments and Founder, Sportingbet

Uri Levy, VP Business Development, Playtech

Evan Hoff, Partner, Velo Partners

Moderator: Melissa Blau, Director, iGaming Capital

After hearing the judges' commentary, it will be up to the EiG audience to choose the winner using EiG voting technology SpotId.

Companies such as FSB Tech Solutions, USM Gaming, Passoker and TopHat Apps won in the last four years, gaining industry exposure and launching their companies at EiG.

The Launchpad has become an important and respected cornerstone in the iGaming sector for companies in their early stages looking to raise capital. Three of the four EiG winners have either raised the capital they were seeking or partnered with industry giants shortly after winning. This was not just true for the winners; Crowd Park who was a runner-up at EIG 2011 also raised capital on the back of the Launchpad.

The Launchpad has also proven a valuable place for investors to spot new trends and investment targets, as commented by Mark Blanford, an industry pioneer, founder of Sportingbet, investor in the gaming sector and a long-time Launchpad judge: "Several of my investments came about as a result of connections made at EIG. The start-up Launchpad is the best industry opportunity for me to spot new trends and interesting companies".
The 11th European iGaming Congress & Expo (EiG) is taking place in Barcelona on 16-18 October 2012. More information about the event and registration can be found at www.eigexpo.com.

Passoker founder Stuart Carr launches fixed odds and online slot gaming division Reel Sports with licensed FA Cup archive game

Posted: 25 Sep 2012 02:29 AM PDT

LONDON, UK – Tuesday, September 25, 2012 – Reel Sports has today been launched by Passoker founder and managing director Stuart Carr to complement the existing Passoker offering and provide operators with innovative, interactive casino and sportsbook games.

The first titles available from Reel Sports are Reel Football and Racing Riches and will be launched in time for the eleventh European iGaming Congress and Expo, EiG (16-18 October 2012), by existing partners of the Passoker game, including William Hill, BetVictor and JenningsBet.

Reel Football is a unique video slot game that uses classic archive content from the FA Cup, as licensed by the Football Association, within all areas of the game.

Aspects of the timeless footage are utilised in the bonus feature, where players predict the outcome of an incident, such as whether a penalty will be scored or missed, before seeing the action unfold. Reel Football features commentary and audio from Sky Sports' Martin Tyler and ex-England, Nottingham Forest, Arsenal and Manchester United footballer Viv Anderson.

Fast-paced Racing Riches is an incident-based roulette-style game, which plays alongside live as well as classic sports events. Wagering opportunities are split into short segments lasting between two and five minutes, which pay out fixed odds and every game contains potential jackpots which reward in multiples of more than 10,000 times stakes.

Fruit icons are allocated to six lanes before they advance closer towards the Racing Riches finishing line on the reoccurrence of randomly assigned incidents, such as a free kick or goal in football.

Participants place chips on the board to predict the finishing position of the fruits. Play ends when the first piece of fruit crosses the finishing line, but rewards are paid out on all squares with fruit remaining, according to chip values, entitling players to profit from multiple winning positions at any one time.

"Launching our Reel Sports division is the culmination of a huge amount of time, effort and investment behind the scenes over the past 12 months," said Stuart Carr, managing director of Reel Sports and Passoker.

"Our success with Passoker shows that our formula of incident-based games is one that is popular and works very well. Passoker continues to exist and Reel Sports uses the established game engine to extend our offering. We are supplementing Passoker through the evolution of the initial concept and a series of games that appeal to a different audience and player type," he adds.
