Brilliant Blogger of the Week: Lee Parkinson Posted: 18 Mar 2013 11:00 AM PDT
Our latest Brilliant Blogger is Lee Parkinson, creator of Mr P’s ICT blog… Lee works at Davyhulme Primary School in Manchester, covering PPA over the whole school. Lee’s school invested in a class set of iPads after Lee read some really interesting blogs about their use in primary schools. So, this year he has been trialing the use of iPads right across the whole curriculum. Initially, Lee started a school blog as a way to showcase how well the iPads were working in school but also to try and engage the children after reading about the benefits blogging can have and the impact it can make on children’s writing. Lee then set up his own teacher blog after sharing some ideas at a Teachmeet event. Mr P’s ICT blog focuses on Lee’s journey of using iPads right across the curriculum and right through the school from Nursery up to Year 6. The response has been great and lots of schools who are now looking at the tablet route are finding it useful as a reference point for ideas and apps. The running list of tried and tested apps is extremely helpful and information about Lee’s football project has also been popular. Explore Lee’s blog here and follow him on Twitter too! |
