Posted: 10 Dec 2012 10:00 AM PST

At the beginning of September, I started a new series of posts here on Teaching News that highlighted some of the wonderful teaching resource sites that are currently available online. Here’s a set of links to all of the sites mentioned in case you missed any:

  • Teacher’s Pet - Wonderful display and activities resources for primary teachers.
  • Twinkl - Lots of quality free and premium resources.
  • Topmarks - A brilliant educational search tool that includes resources too.
  • MFL Sunderland - An essential site for teachers of foreign languages.
  • NRich - A brilliant Maths site for pupils and teachers.
  • Primary Treasure Chest - Thousands of resources for primary teachers to download, many of which are editable.
  • Early Learning HQ - Free educational resources for Early Years and KS1 teachers.
  • Teachit Primary -  A large collection of free resources, with editable Word and Powerpoint resources for members too.
  • Teaching Essentials - A growing site, built by two teachers in Somerset. Well worth a look!
  • Paperzip - High quality resources, ranging from writing templates and bookmarks to alphabet packs and banners.
  • Primary Teacher Resource Centre - Free resources, items to buy and a fantastic discussion forum for teachers.
  • Teaching Ideas - My own resource site has been offering thousands of free lesson ideas and activity resources for 14 years!

I am bringing this series of posts to an end this week, but I also wanted to mention a few other sites that I haven’t had time to include:

Primary Resources

  • Primary Resources – Gareth Pitchford has been running Primary Resources for many years and it is an enormous collection of resources that have been contributed by teachers around the world. It really is an essential site for any teacher!
  • Communication4All – Bev Evans makes this fantastic site, offering lots of great resources. It’s easy to explore, with clear subject / topic areas and the resources are always clear and perfect for use in the classroom.
  • Mrs. Pancake – Offers lots of printable ‘doodads’! There are some lovely resources here.

At the beginning of the new year, I am planning a new set of ‘Teaching Blog of the Week’ posts. If you have any suggestions for great teachers who share their ideas via blogs, please let me know and I’ll happily feature them here! Thank you.
